It also becomes difficult to split our use of social media between friends and pure business relations. Past business relations are now friends, people I met on twitter qualify both a friends, business contacts or potential partners or customers. The borer is really blurred. So our conversation hop from blogs to blogs via Twitter. From marketing point of view sharing part of our life is part of transparency. It’s also part of working out loud. For me sole entrepreneur, working from home the frontier is thin. As soon as i start sharing videos, showing how I work I will eventually share some of my context. Joel from @buffer, Gary V all shared some part of their life and like this create a sense of transparency, some trust and invite us on their adventures. I feel i could do the same and it could help build long term trust. It’s also way easier than to try to keep a strict separation and pretend you have no real life outisde of marketing videos or tutorials. like a voice out of nowhere. Now it’s also a question of balance, like everything. I stay away from social media regularly, some parts of it, some topics stays outside of my computer and so not shared online. I plan to use my garden as a regular setup for some vidoes I’m preparing. There will be tutorials and background explanation of Kneaver and the story behind Kneaver.
