The online service Kneaver™ Web delivers an attractive set of features without caring for setup, resources. It is more flexible than a database, more structured than simple notes, more organized than a wiki. On top of publishing, searching, and organizing Kneaver™ can actively ease your tasks. So it is your knowledge put to work for your own profit.
Kneaver™ is an online service for managing your Knowledge. You will open an account and use the software as a service with no installation on your computer. The Application is hosted on our computers and provided as a service. Everything will be online and accessible within your web browser from any device being a computer or a cell phone. Kneaver™ will require HTML, CSS, and javascript.
Kneaver™ Web with the set of features described below is free for single users. More features will be added in the future in a premium package offered at a subscription price. Our business model is freemium, with no ads, no selling or exposing of content. Registration with Kneaver™ is straightforward, requires no credit card.
Privacy: The motto of Kneaver™ is to be privacy centric. A new and separate database is created for every account. You are the one in control of what you want to share or publish. Nothing is published by default and you can very well stay with a perfectly private space not even invaded by ads. The benefit is that you can place there your thoughts with peace of mind as they come and without obstacles to your expression.
What is Kneaver™: Your Kneaver™ Knowledge is made of (but not limited to) definitions, know-how or recipes, supporting facts, multimedia. All this can be categorized and placed in relation one with another to create a vast network. What can be placed in Kneaver™ is not limited, you can create new types of items interactively, new categories, tags, flags everything that helps to organize your thoughts and information. We call them POK for Piece of Knowledge, “meme” is also used.
Links between items can also be tagged, typed, categorized. This mimics the way our brain is organized with neurons and synapses, or sentences made of words or lists or taxonomies, hierarchies. So items will be linked because they are the general case of others, or part of them or cause of them, or justify, prove them.
It is encouraged that items stay simple and straightforward more like landmarks of your knowledge than long writings. Placing Knowledge in Kneaver™ will stay short, easy and inconsequent. The value will grow more by linking than by writing.
From time to time, you will appreciate enhancing your Knowledge. You will be able to weave new links and reorganize them at any time. This makes it engaging to start informally and elaborate your knowledge as it grows and your expertise in using Kneaver™ increases. We encourage you to start with your points of interest and elaborate from there. Linking to reference sites is a quick way to link to common core knowledge. After some time your own knowledge will appear as the flesh of the network while external links will identify the limits of what you wish to acquire. This materialize your Knowledge frontier. Learning will consist of displacing this frontier.
Quickly you will realize that there are benefits to use the supplied categories of items. For example keeping a level where you place your values, motivations, objectives. This is what relates your actions in life and ultimately it will also relate to your knowledge.
Learning and memorizing is supported by several features of Kneaver™. It will be possible for example to search for items lying on the frontier and restart building or acquire new knowledge from there. Other build-in search queries allow searching for piece of knowledge recently acquired and reviewing them as a list.
Search on the network or database can be done at any time. It may include a full-text search combined with specific operators like how much linked is the items, how much known or the types requested. Search is done using indexes and the network to obtain significant results for you. The system will typically favor items less known or not reviewed recently. In this sense, the system features really a Knowledge Management system because it takes into account what you know as opposed to a plain database.
Maps: With such a powerful network of Knowledge is also possible to offer a large variety of applications like mental maps. On such maps of concepts will appear like nodes and links like lines between nodes similar to a road map with towns and roads. All aspects of the graphic can be customized in style.
Presentations: Another feature allows you to group items in stories and build automatically a presentation from them. This is especially useful when preparing yourself to expose your knowledge to an audience. Depending on the expected core knowledge of attendees and the length of the session more items can be included or removed without duplicating the set. More items can be added to keynotes as well as references. You can also define scopes corresponding to audiences and use scopes for search, glossaries, presentation. Scopes can be combined. They correspond to a level and type of audience. If you operate in a company you may wish to make the difference between a speech to outsiders, fresher or senior colleagues. Un-scoped items will always be considered as your most private knowledge preventing unintentional sharing.
Glossaries can be produced at any time from a set of seed items. All the necessary definitions will be included, ordered and cross-linked.
Text outside Kneaver™ can be automatically annotated. Just copy-paste the link or the text and it will be displayed with links to concepts present in your database. This makes it easy to read something complex and place it back in the context of what is already know.
Know-How, recipes are special cases of processes. Processes can be actually be executed within Kneaver™. Steps that can be automated can be executed as if Kneaver™ was some kind of automata or engine. Manual steps will appear as tasks in your task list. Kneaver™ can like this be used to design and follow business processes, workflows.
Kneaver™ will also assist you in maintaining your online presence and social contacts. Plugins will be offered to push information you wish to share to social networks or blogging platforms.
Kneaver™ is open, extensible, and versatile. It can use be with most modern programming languages or as a web service. Applications can be defined and extended the system.

Information filtering and pulling. With the abundance of information in the electronic age we are faced with information overflow. Here again, Kneaver™ helps.
Because the system knows what you are interested in it is also possible to use it to filter incoming information like electronic newsletters or RSS feeds. the system will evaluate a pertinence value and help you prioritize what you should read at first. The system includes also a monitoring function to help in tech watch duties.
Filtering and automatic linking can also be applied to incoming mails. For this purpose, Kneaver™ can also leverage your contact list or external databases.
Data can also be attached to Knowledge. With this feature the schema and semantic resides in Kneaver™ items and data are stored in regular SQL tables.
Kneaver™ Web can be complemented with Kneaver™ Desktop to offer Quick Knowledge capture and application to all your information available on your computer. Both solutions can be synchronized leading to a performant Knowledge Management System available anytime, anywhere.
